Dr. Jamie Rosen - DVM
Dr. Jamie Rosen, VMD, Medical Director

Dr. Jamie Rosen loves getting to know her patients and their families and works hard to make every visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible. She has been practicing veterinary medicine since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 2003 and became Medical Director at Village Square Portola Valley Veterinary Hospital in 2025. At home in Portola Valley, she stays busy with her husband, two teenagers, two dogs, and two cats. When she’s not at the hospital, she enjoys traveling, hiking, skiing, scuba diving, and curling up with a good book.

Dr. Myriah Chase - DVM
Dr. Myriah Chase, DVM

Dr. Myriah Chase is a California native that graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her clinical year at Oregon State University Carlson College of Veterinary Medicine and came back to the Bay Area to be with family and to practice medicine. While interested in gaining more exposure to various fields of veterinary medicine, she also enjoys building strong relationships with both her patients and their pet parents. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, wine tasting, baking, and visiting friends and family when possible. Dr. Chase also loves spending time with her two dogs, Bunni and Mack, as well as her cat Boots.

Violet Staat - Practice Manager
Dr. Kristy Moding, DVM

Dr. Kristy Moding is a 2011 graduate of North Carolina State Veterinary School. Dr. Moding has a special interest in surgery and dentistry. She is dedicated to staying up-to-date on veterinary medical developments and spends much of her time outside of work reading veterinary research articles.

Dr. Moding is also passionate about volunteering to provide veterinary care free of charge to animals in developing areas such as Nicaragua and the Marshall Islands. She also volunteers locally for shelter pets in need.

In her free time, she is fond of horseback riding and travel. Dr. Moding also enjoys part-time practice in equine medicine. She currently lives in Portola Valley with her husband and children. She loves being a veterinarian, working with animals and the owners that love them!

Violet Staat - Practice Manager
Dr. Gary Hsia, DMV
Dr. Gary Hsia earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine and brings 15 years of diverse veterinary experience. Alongside his work in general practice, he founded an in-home euthanasia service and provided relief coverage at an emergency clinic, further expanding his skills and deepening his commitment to compassionate care. Recently, he returned to the Bay Area to be closer to family.

Dr. Hsia’s passion for animals began early, inspired by childhood curiosity and a love of life sciences. Growing up exploring nature and caring for a variety of pets, he developed a lifelong dedication to helping animals and their people.

When not at work, Dr. Hsia enjoys outdoor adventures with his family, including hiking, camping, and beach trips. A devoted Bay Area sports fan, he loves cheering on the 49ers and Warriors. He shares his home with two dogs, Scout and Suki, and two cats, Walnut and Pesto.

Alisa, RVT Supervisor

Alisa has dedicated 14 years to the veterinary field. She takes pride in providing excellent care for the animals she oversees, consistently advocating for their welfare. She feels proud to ensure that every pet she encounters receives the highest standards of surgical and dental care. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, going to sporting events, and country concerts, and hanging out with her family and friends.

Jennifer, RVT

Jennifer has been practicing veterinary medicine for 22 years. She is a strong advocate for her patients and their well-being, tirelessly working to ensure they receive the best care possible. In her free time, she has a passion for travel and enjoys exploring new places. Additionally, Jennifer finds fulfillment in volunteering at animal shelters, dedicating her time to helping those in need.

Tomas - Veterinary Assistant
Tomas, VA

Tomas currently goes to Canada College for Radiology Tech. He prides himself in making vet visits for patients as positive as possible. In his free time he enjoys playing video games and traveling all over the Bay Area.

Evelen has been practicing for over a year now. She went to San Francisco State University and takes pride in making sure her patients are well taken care of. In her free time, she enjoys going to the gym and spending time with her family and boyfriend.

Sarah went to the University of California, Davis. She thinks that bridging the communication between patient/client and doctors is one of the most important things in a veterinary practice. She also enjoys building relationships with the patient and client to provide the best care possible. In her free time, she enjoys hiking with her dog Toby, painting, and cooking.

Miguel, VA

Miguel attended Foothill and Platt College. He takes pride in providing the best possible care for his patients, creating positive experiences during visits, and building strong relationships with their owners. He treats every patient as if they were his own. In his free time, Miguel enjoys collecting comics, manga, and figures, but his true passion lies in photography and cinematography. A collector of cameras, he loves photographing animals on the streets—a hobby that inspired his journey into veterinary medicine.

Bella
Bella, VA

Bella Gershtein has been a Veterinary Assistant at Village Square Veterinary Hospital PV since August 2020. A student at Arcadia University (Class of 2025), she prides herself on her compassion for patients and passion for the field. In her free time, Bella enjoys playing hockey, hiking, and reading in new coffee shops.
